Description: Magnesium nitrate mainly exists in the form of anhydrous, dihydrate and hexahydrate, most of the products on the market are Magnesium nitrate hexahydrate.The dihydrate Mg(NO3)2·2H2O is a colorless columnar crystal, and the Magnesium nitrate hexahydrate Mg(NO3)2·6H2O is a colorless monoclinic crystal. Magnesium nitrate hexahydrate can be prepared by reaction of MgO with nitric acid, filtration, concentration, crystallization and recrystallization.

Uses: Magnesium nitrate
1. It is used as oxidant, catalyst, raw material for making pyrotechnics or other magnesium salts and leather additives.
2. It can be used in magnesium nitrate humidifier.
3. Used as dehydrating agent for producing concentrated nitric acid.
4. It is used to assist the synthesis of high explosive RDX, and to manufacture detonator, booster and detonating cord.
